Sense Scotland has received 拢5,000 to fund arts sessions for children with multiple disabilities in Glasgow.

The donation was provided by The Discovery Foundation, supported by Santander, which offers grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.

Sense Scotland works with children, young people and adults who have complex needs. The donation will enable the charity to provide arts sessions for children with communication support needs and multiple disabilities. The classes will encourage the children to use their senses to explore their environment and, importantly, to have fun.

Rachael Grant, Early Years Development Officer at Sense Scotland said: 鈥淭he arts are a hugely important learning experience for children with complex needs. We鈥檙e so grateful to The Discovery Foundation for this generous grant.鈥

Ross Hunter, Branch Director at Santander鈥檚 Argyle Street Branch, Glasgow said: "The Discovery Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK. Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting Sense Scotland, and hope the donation makes a real difference to local children."

About Sense Scotland

Sense Scotland was formalised as a charity in 1985. It grew quickly, from its beginnings as a small group of families pressing for services for their children, who were affected by deaf-blindness, many because of maternal rubella. Since then, the organisation has gone on to successfully support thousands of disabled people and their families, in thousands of projects and services, throughout Scotland.
